You never live the same retreat twice, even in the same place. The setting stays, but the energy changes. So do the seasons.
In March, we returned to chalet Zenspace in a completely different atmosphere. The snow is still there, but it is starting to melt. The sun is more present. Winter is gently fading away. And above all, the group is different.
Arrivals happen on Thursday in the late afternoon. The chalet is bathed in light. You can already feel the atmosphere will be different from January’s. Less raw, softer.
Alexandra and Maïwenn quickly find their bearings again. Everything is already familiar to them. And so, in large part, is the group.
It is a 100% women’s retreat, and many already know each other. Some are reuniting after Corsica, others after previous retreats. There are hugs, “it’s so good to see you again” moments, news shared almost as if between old friends.
The rooms fill up quietly, suitcases are set down, and a small shop corner takes shape on the ground floor. Flowaway hoodies and t-shirts are already passing from hand to hand.
The opening circle officially launches the retreat. We take time to settle, to share, then to discover the sponsors’ gifts. Then comes the first practice: a Vinyasa guided by Alexandra and Maïwenn. Bodies get moving again, and the group quickly finds its shared rhythm.
Dinner, prepared by Agathe, brings everyone together. The atmosphere is already easy, natural. The evening stays calm. We talk, we catch up… and we go to bed fairly early.
The next morning, Alexandra guides a Vinyasa to wake up the body. The energy rises gently, without force. Then it’s off to the gondola.
This time, a complete change of scenery compared to January: bright sunshine, clear skies, light everywhere. Once at altitude, we settle onto the terrace. We eat outside, in full sun. Some are almost getting a tan. We soak it in, we take our time, we open a bottle of wine. A simple moment, but a memorable one.
On the way back, the group naturally splits. Maïwenn, seven and a half months pregnant, heads gently back down in the gondola with part of the group. With Alexandra, others choose to walk down, hiking all the way to the chalet.
The afternoon continues with a Yoga Dance session guided by Maïwenn. The choreography catches on fast, the energy is good, and above all, everyone gets into it. Some even keep doing it again afterwards, just for the joy of it.
In the evening, the mood steps up a notch. Aperitif, an open fire, conversations… The group is already very close-knit, and you can feel it.
Saturday is a big day. We start with a dynamic Vinyasa flow guided by Alexandra to prepare the body, then it’s time for the inversions workshop.
Two teams form: the Lionesses and the Cirques du Soleil. Very quickly, things turn playful. We play, we challenge each other, we cheer each other on. Headstand, handstand, Pincha Mayurasana. We try different entries, we progress, we dare.
Brunch arrives like a well-earned reward.
The afternoon holds a surprise: a creative workshop to make your own dreamcatcher. Threads, feathers, beads… everyone creates their own, at their own pace. These dreamcatchers then take on a special role during the practice that follows.
Maïwenn guides a Yin & Yoga Nidra around the theme of dreams. Everyone has their dreamcatcher by their side. The atmosphere is soft, almost suspended in time.
In the evening, we all dress in white. Temporary tattoos, champagne, music… And very quickly, the party comes alive. We eat, we dance, we laugh.
And at one point, almost naturally, the group starts the Yoga Dance again… this time in white, in the yoga room, at night. A powerful, spontaneous, collective moment. The evening stretches late into the night.
The next morning, everyone gathers for the final practice. Alexandra guides a ladder flow. We learn the sequence step by step, we repeat it, and by the end, everyone can do it on their own. Some film themselves, keeping a memory of it.
Then comes the closing circle. So many emotions. The words are strong, sincere. You can feel that something grew stronger over these few days.
Everyone heads back to their own life, their own rhythm… but with this bond added to it. And this very clear feeling: this group never really parts. It carries on, from one retreat to the next.
